William "Bill" Herbert Muggle, Jr. Obituary (1929

William "Bill" H. Muggle, Jr., 83, of Sibley Street, South Attleboro passed on Saturday, February 23, 2013 at the Golden Living Center of Attleboro. He was the beloved husband of the late Carol Joan Burland Muggle who passed on August 4, 2005. Born in the Village of Montague City in Montague, MA on March 5, 1929, Bill was the son of the late William H. and Agnes Schnopp Muggle, Sr. Years ago he was employed as a logger in North Adams and later worked on the family dairy farm in Southwick, MA. Bill honorably served in the 1st Division of the 3rd Army Honor Guard during W.W.II and also served as a guard during the Nuremburg War Crimes Trials. William was employed as a machinist and a tool & die maker at Cumberland Engineering for many years until retiring. He was a proud member of the American Legion Post 312 in South Attleboro and enjoyed fishing, hunting and watching the New England Patriots. Bill is survived by two sons: William H. Muggle, III of Lincoln, RI and Richard W. Muggle of Pawtucket; a daughter: Charlene Hall of Pascoag, RI; a brother: Robert J. Muggle of Florida; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and a friend: Marion Reed of Rehoboth. He was the loving father of the late Phillip E. Muggle who passed in 1990 and the brother of the late Minnie Muggle. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend visiting hours on Thursday, February 28, 2013 from 9 AM – 10:30 AM in the Duffy-Poule Funeral Home, 20 Peck Street, Attleboro. Followed by a Funeral Service at 11 AM in the First Congregational "Old Town" Church, 675 Old Post Road, North Attleboro conducted by Rev. Kelly Thibeaut, Interim Pastor. Mr. Muggle will be laid to rest with full military honors beside his beloved wife in Newell Burying Ground, South Attleboro.
