Thomas J. O'Connor Obituary (1960

Thomas J. O'Connor, 52, of Quincy, MA, passed unexpectedly on Saturday, May 25, 2013 at home. He was the husband of Kristin Harvey O'Connor of Attleboro. Born in Potsdam, New York on December 3, 1960, Tom was a son of Rita Huston O'Connor of Winthrop, New York, and Stuart, Florida and the late Robert O'Connor. Tom graduated from St. Lawrence Central School in 1979 where he excelled both in the classroom and on the athletic field. It was there also that he developed a lifelong love for music while playing with the marching band and in the school's musical productions. As a multiyear varsity athlete in football, hockey, baseball, and lacrosse, Tom earned many sectional and regional accolades culminating with his induction into the St. Lawrence Central Athletic Hall of Fame. After relocating to Massachusetts, Tom married Kristin Harvey on June 29, 1991 in St. John the Evangelist Church in Attleboro. He worked nearly twenty years for Airborne Express/DHL, holding membership in Teamsters Local 25. Tom was easy to get to know and hard to forget. He was happiest when spending time with family and friends and loved to sit around a campfire playing his guitar. Tom enjoyed following all Boston area sports teams and was a passionate New England Patriots fan. On game day he could be always found in front of a television wearing his favorite Pat's sweatshirt. In addition to his wife Kristin and his mother Rita, Tom is survived by a brother: Timothy O'Connor and his wife Darlene of Canton, NY, a sister: Erin Southwick and her husband John of Massena, NY, and several nieces and nephews: Kaitlin and John O'Connor, Kelly and Robert Southwick, Kristin, Nina, and Elizabeth Estremera, Michael and Shana Gambino and Riley McCabe. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend visiting hours on Saturday, June 1, 2013 from 2 PM – 5 PM in the Duffy-Poule Funeral Home, 20 Peck Street, Attleboro. Burial will be private.
