Thomas R. Ireland Obituary (1929 - 2012) - Attleboro, Massachusetts

Thomas Richard Ireland, 83, formerly of Attleboro and Cumberland, Rhode Island, passed on December 21, 2012 in The Boulders at Riverwoods in Exeter, New Hampshire. He was the beloved husband of the late Rita Logan Ireland. Born in Attleboro on September 1, 1929, he was the son of the late Howard and Doris MacQuarrie Ireland. Thomas was educated in Attleboro schools and was a graduate of Bryant College. He served his country proudly as a member of the United Stated Navy during the Korean Conflict. Thomas was an owner and partner of the former Hallmark Findings Company. He served as president of the Jewelers Board of Trade. Thomas enjoyed boating and skiing. He was an avid member of the Attleboro Ski Club for over 50 years, and former member of Highland Country Club. Thomas is survived by two sons; John Ireland and his wife Sheila of Fremont, New Hampshire, and Todd Ireland of Manchester, New Hampshire, four sisters; Nancy Withers of Attleboro, Mary Ireland of Attleboro, Bette Ireland of San Francisco, and Carolyn Bruce of Attleboro, two grandchildren; Ryder Logan Ireland and Conner Thomas Ireland. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the Duffy-Poule Funeral Home, 20 Peck Street, Attleboro, where the Ireland family will receive friends on Friday, December 28th from 4-8 PM. A funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, December 29th at 11 AM in the Duffy-Poule Funeral Home . Burial will be private. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a luncheon at Highland Country Club, 104 Mechanic Street, Attleboro immediately following the funeral service on Saturday.
