Mrs. Theresa L. Smith Obituary (1935

ATTLEBORO - Theresa L. Smith, 83, of Attleboro MA passed away on Tuesday, August 7, 2018 surrounded by her loving family including her husband, Ralph E. Smith. Born January 22, 1935 in Cornwall, VT, she was the youngest of five children born to the late Francis and Georgiana (Goudreau) Boise. Theresa graduated from Middlebury High School in 1953 where she met her future husband. Following graduation she lived briefly in Brookfield, CT and Alexandria, VA before marrying and moving to Springfield, MA. The couple lived in Springfield while Ralph served in the U.S. Air Force. They moved to Attleboro in 1959 where they raised four children. After dedicating many years to taking care of her family, she began an amazing career in Real Estate. Over the next 37 years, Theresa would work tirelessly to find many families their dream homes. It was her passion and pride of Attleboro that made her so successful at the job she loved, winning her many prestigious awards. Theresa enjoyed music, books, puzzles, bird watching, but most of all loved her family. As a devoted grandmother of six, she attended many baseball, lacrosse, and hockey games (even though she hated the cold). She was a huge Red Sox fan and learned to tolerate NASCAR for the love of her husband. She is survived by her adoring children, Vicky Stoops and her husband Bob, Julie Whittingham, Nancy Severance, and Ralph Smith Jr. and her grandchildren Hannah, Zack, Ben, Matt, Alexis, and Mitch. She was predeceased by her siblings, Leonard Boise, Holmer Boise, Dorothy Quenneville, and Cecelia Sparks. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial visitation from 6 – 8 p.m. on Monday, August 13, 2018 in the Duffy-Poule Funeral Home, 20 Peck Street, Attleboro. Burial will take place privately at St. Stephen’s Cemetery, Attleboro. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Vincent de Paul, St. John’s Conference, One St. John’s Place, Attleboro, MA 02703.
