Sylvia DeRiso

Sylvia F. DeRiso - Loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Sylvia died peacefully on Monday, March 25, 2024 surrounded by her husband, three children and eldest granddaughter.

Born on June 8, 1935, in Pawtucket, Rhode Island to the late William and Sarah Cluley, Sylvia lived her early life in Central Falls, Rhode Island. Her husband of 65 years, Bob DeRiso, and she raised their three children in Attleboro, MA. Sylvia enjoyed her career as an elementary school reading specialist for twenty-five years, finishing her career at the North School in Seekonk, MA. With Bob and her three children, Sylvia enjoyed extensive travel both domestically and internationally, building memories and creating family stories that are enjoyed to this day.

Sylvia is survived by her loving husband, B. Robert DeRiso, her devoted children Lori (John) LaBossiere of West Greenwich, RI; Joanna (John) Kolis of Belmont, MA; Matthew DeRiso of Attleboro, MA.

Sylvia's greatest joy was her 3 grandchildren Sara Bloodworth (Louie Stravato), Jack Kolis, Grace Kolis, and her great-grandson, Cameron.

She is also survived by her two sisters, Phyllis (Al) Mongeau and Margorie (John) Tsonos both of Cumberland, Rhode Island, and a brother-in-law, Francis DeRiso (Barbara – deceased) of Warren, Rhode Island; ten nieces and nephews and their families; extended family and a community of friends. Mrs. DeRiso was a longstanding member of All Saints Church, Attleboro, MA.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial visitation from 4-6 p.m. on Friday, March 29th at the Duffy-Poule Funeral Home, 20 Peck Street, Attleboro, MA. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 30th at the Duffy-Poule Funeral Home, 20 Peck Street, Attleboro. Burial will follow at Moshassuck Cemetery, Central Falls, RI.
