Robert Nelson Obituary (1960 - 2021) - Wareham, Massachusetts

Robert “Sam” G. Nelson of Wareham, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 28, 2021 at 60 years of age. Beloved son of the late Georgette (Davignon) and George Nelson. Loving father of Samuel Nelson and his wife Britney of Lakeville and Nicholas Nelson and his partner Jessica Donovan of Attleboro. Cherished grandfather of Brayden George Nelson of Attleboro. Adored brother of 9 sisters and brothers. Sam was born in Attleboro and lived there all his life until he moved to Wareham 2 years ago. He attended Attleboro High School. Sam was proudly known as “DJ Smiling Sam” for over 20 years. He loved to interact with his crowd and entertain others. Sam’s personal mission was to always make people laugh and smile and this was typically at his expense. He wasn’t the best-looking guy, either, so his look surely assisted with his comedic efforts. Sam was very familiar with “Murphy’s Law” because if anything had the potential to go badly, it certainly would with him. He was not particularly a religious man; however, he would praise the Lord very loudly when Murphy’s Law showed itself! Sam was known for being a hard worker and a person who welcomed challenges. Sam’s family would like to thank everyone for all their love and support during this very difficult time. All services will be held privately.
