Sister Rachel (Bernadette) Berard RJM Obituary (1930

Sr. Bernadette (Rachel) "MaTante" Berard was born April 16,1930, one of six beautiful daughters born to Raoul H. and Jeannette C. Berard, who spent most of her life growing up in Woonsocket, RI. She graduated from St. Clare High School prior to entering the convent. She was a life member of the Religious of Jesus and Mary (RJM), where she made lasting friendships and offered herself to a life of teaching God's word through her educational service throughout the country. Rachel was a gifted artist and vocalist, adding her special voice to choirs and family gatherings around the piano. Never a bad word for anyone, she was often heard saying " That's BEAUTIFUL!" to mostly anything she encountered. She was a kind and loving person who has now reached her greatest reward. She leaves her sisters, Jeannine Moussas, Olive Savard, many nieces and nephews and her loving family at the former RJM home on School Street in Plainville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, November 21st, 2023 at St. Martha Church, 227 South Street, Plainville, MA. Burial will follow at 12:15 p.m. at St. Jean-Baptiste Cemetery 310 Wrentham Road, Bellingham, MA.
