Mrs. Nancy M. Thatcher Obituary (1933

Norton – Nancy M. Thatcher, 84, of Norton, passed away after years of failing health on Thursday, May 25, 2017 in the Sturdy Memorial Hospital, Attleboro. She was the devoted wife of the late Charles L. Thatcher Jr. Born on April 17, 1933 in Rehoboth, MA, she was a daughter of the late Myron and Elsie (Goff) Reed. Nancy grew up in Swansea and was a graduate of Bristol Agricultural School. She has been a resident of Norton for over 60 years and worked in the Norton School cafeteria from 1978 – 1988. Nancy was a longtime member of the Attleboro Advent Christian Church and she volunteered at Sturdy Memorial Hospital for several years. She is survived by her loving children, Audry Fontneau and her husband Edward of Attleboro, Charles L. Thatcher III of Norton, Nancy Bramwell and her husband Jeffrey of Norton, Allen R. Thatcher and his wife Larri of FL, Shirley May Eddleston of North Attleboro and Philip W. Thatcher and his wife Michelle of Middleboro; 15 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren; a sister, Beulah Lopes and her husband Manuel of Attleboro; a sister-in-law, Eleanor Reed Greenhalgh of Seekonk; several nieces and nephews and a lifelong friend, Barbara J. Woodward of Virginia. She was the mother of the late Ida-Ellen Coffey and sister of her 13 late siblings. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Tuesday, May 30 from 4-7 p.m., at the Duffy- Poule Funeral Home, 20 Peck St., Attleboro. A funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday, May 31, at 10 a.m. from the Duffy-Poule Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Cedar Knoll Cemetery, Taunton.
