Mrs. Muriel "Trudie" Bliss Obituary (1926

ATTLEBORO – Muriel E. “Trudie” Bliss, 89, of Attleboro passed away on Saturday, November 21, 2015 surrounded by her loving family at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Center in Providence. She was the devoted wife of Thomas “Kent” Bliss Jr. of Attleboro. Born on June 29, 1926, in Attleboro, MA, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Silvia (Place) Barney. Trudie was a lifelong resident of Attleboro. She was a very active member of the Second Congregational Church in Attleboro, where she served as an Honorary Deacon, Sunday school teacher, volunteer to many church fairs and a member of the Service Circle and the Martha Circle. Trudie was also a member of the New Century Club, active at the Florence H. Sweet Club House and longtime volunteer at Sturdy Memorial Hospital. She enjoyed spending time on Cape Cod, hiking, biking, travel, gardening, tennis and knitting. Trudie enjoyed her time with a large circle of friends, was an avid Red Sox fan and truly loved spending time with her grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her four children, Deborah Behler of Amawalk, NY and her companion George Wilkinson, Susan and her husband Stephen Buckley of Medfield, MA, David Bliss and his wife Donna of Attleboro and Bette and her husband Richard Renoni of Attleboro; seven grandchildren, Sarah, Dan, Lauren, David, Tom, Tim and Brian; eight great grandchildren, Cate, Owen, AJ, Campbell, Noah, Thomas, Piper and Clara. She was predeceased by her sisters Ruth (Barney) McCracken and Lydia Barney. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Saturday, November 28, 2015 at 11 a.m. in the Second Congregational Church, 50 Park Street, Attleboro. At the conclusion of services an invitation will be extended to join the family for a time of continued fellowship and refreshments at the Bliss Brothers Dairy, 711 Park Street, Attleboro, MA.
