Michael Christopher Brogan (Big Mike), 57, a life-long resident of Attleboro, passed away at home on November 20, 2024 surrounded by his family. Mike courageously battled Glioblastoma for 13 months.
Mike was born on October 31,1967 to his late parents Frank Brogan of Peabody
MA. and Mary Sweeney Brogan of Attleboro, MA.
Mike graduated with the Attleboro High School class of 1985. Some of his fondest HS memories were of his culinary days where he made life long friends. He continued to follow the AHS sports teams until his passing. Go Blue!!
He was a dedicated employee at CNT Inc. of Bridgewater, where he found immense joy in his work and more importantly, his coworkers. Mike had a big heart and a wonderful sense of humor that touched everyone who knew him, right up to the end.
He was known for his quick wit, his knowledge for sports facts, Friday night fires, his immense love of numbers, his daily walks around Attleboro with Henry, chocolate chip cookies, his Friday lottery routine, and his favorite thing to say; “it will work itself out.”
In 1990 Mike met the love of his life Lisa, at a party at “the cottage” in Plymouth. Mike and Lisa wed in 1993 and went on to have two beautiful children. Joshua and his wife Gretchen (Mike’s Gretty) and Haley and her husband Jordan Coleman all of Attleboro.
Mike is survived by his big brother Gerry Brogan of Attleboro, his sister Ellen (Bill) Lee of
Pawtucket, RI, his late brother Steve Brogan of Florida, his step-siblings Christopher (joe) Taylor and his wife Dana, Kathy Taylor, and Christine Taylor as well as his parents in law Edward and Sandra Tuite of Bridgewater. Arguably most important to Mike, he leaves his beloved dog, Henry Francis, who never left his side. He also leaves many family members and friends who will miss him immensely. His memory will be cherished by all who knew him.
Mike was a devoted father, coaching his kids all through their childhood in soccer, basketball, and baseball where he earned the nickname “big daddy”.
The family would like to give a special thanks to a few groups of people. Dana Farber for taking care of Mike from the beginning, right up to the end. His hospice team at Hope Health, for ensuring Mike’s comfort in his final weeks, the Attleboro Fire Department for all the times they helped the family without a hint of hesitation, and all the friends and family who made the Brogans feel the love and support during this impossible year.
Visitation will be held on Monday, November 25, 2024 from 4:00-7:00PM in the Duffy-Poule Funeral & Cremation Services 20 Peck St., Attleboro, MA.
