Mr. Maurice O. Valade Obituary (1928

Attleboro – Maurice O. Valade, 85, of West Street, passed away on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at Sturdy Memorial Hospital. He was the loving husband of Eileen (Pedro) Valade of Attleboro. Born December 26, 1928 in North Attleboro, he was a son of the late Henry and Irene (Lecours) Valade. Maurice grew up in North Attleboro and was a graduate of North Attleboro High School. He entered the U.S. Navy and proudly served during WWII and Korea. He was employed as a production control technician for Texas Instruments for over 30 years. After his retirement from Texas Instruments, Maurice worked for various, local funeral homes. Maurice was a member of the VFW and the Saint Vincent de Paul Society. He enjoyed walking, gardening, and keeping his lawn in pristine condition. In addition to his wife, Maurice is survived by his two daughters, Audrey and her husband Dr. John Friedman of Attleboro and Donna and her husband David Bliss of Attleboro; four grandchildren, Michael Friedman of FL, Adam Friedman and his wife Jenny of Brighton, Lauren and her husband Andrew St. Martin of Attleboro, and Thomas Bliss and his wife Alison of TX; four great grandchildren, Caleb and Owen Friedman both of FL, Lila Jane Friedman of Brighton, and Campbell Elizabeth Bliss of TX; three siblings, Claudette Root of Attleboro, Rita Fargnoli of RI, and Donald “Rene” Valade of FL. He was the brother of the late Oscar, Roland, Gerald, Robert, Rodney, Jean, and Annette. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Friday, April 25, 2014 from 5-8 p.m. in the Duffy-Poule Funeral Home, 20 Peck Street Attleboro. A funeral will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2014 at 9 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Vincent de Paul Parish, 71 Linden Street, Attleboro. Burial with military honors will follow in St. John’s Cemetery, Attleboro.
