Josephine A. Nyzio Obituary (1933

Josephine A. Nyzio, 79, of West Street, Attleboro, passed on July 5, 2012 in the Madonna Manor Nursing Home, North Attleboro. She was the beloved wife of Anthony Nyzio. Born Josephine D'Ambra in Providence, Rhode Island on May 19, 1933, she was a daughter of the late Michael and Mary Francisco D'Ambra. Josephine was raised in Johnston and was a graduate of Mt. Pleasant High School, Class of 1950. She also received her Associates Degree in Business from Bryant College. She worked at the First National Bank of Attleboro, Swank, Inc., and in the Attleboro school system. Josephine, always a sharp dresser, was a Color Consultant for Beauty for All Seasons for many years. Josephine was a member of the Harmonettes and the award winning barbershop quartette, the Chord Jills. She served on the Board of Directors for the Attleboro Arts Museum for many years and was a longtime volunteer at Sturdy Memorial Hospital. Josephine also volunteered many hours at LaSalette Shrine during the Christmas season and at Holy Ghost Parish. She will forever be remembered as a lifelong lover of travel, the arts and for her service to her community. In addition to her husband Anthony, Josephine is survived by four children; Sue Van Sweden of San Mateo, California, David Nyzio of Stone Ridge, New York, James Nyzio of Duxbury, Massachusetts, and Stephanie Nyzio of Brattleboro, Vermont, two sisters; Loretta DeBerardis, and Anna De Luise, and three grandchildren; John Van Sweden, Charley Nyzio, and Kazimir Nyzio. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the Duffy-Poule Funeral Home, 20 Peck Street, Attleboro. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 14th at 11 AM in the Duffy-Poule Funeral Home. Josephine will be laid to rest in Newell Burying Ground, South Attleboro.
