Mr. Joseph M. Forget Obituary (1926

ATTLEBORO – Joseph “Jean” M. Forget, 92, of Attleboro, devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, January 27, 2019. He was the loving husband of the late Florence L. (Falke) Forget. Born on May 12, 1926 in Attleboro, MA, he was a son of the late Emilien M. and Camilla A. Forget. Jean was a graduate of Attleboro High School. He proudly served his country during WWII as a Merchant Marine from 1941-1945, until his honorable discharge. He worked as a jewelry polisher for the L.G. Balfour Company and for Swank Inc. Jean had a thirst for knowledge and enjoyed reading books on a variety of subjects from a very young age. He had an appreciation of the Arts and painted in his youth. As a young adult, he enjoyed writing and had interest in opera. Jean had a lifelong appreciation for music and enjoyed classical music in particular. He was an avid listener of the Sound Kitchen, Radio France International, a pen pal of Susan Ownesby. Jean is survived by his children, Gail J. Salisbury of So. Attleboro, Susan D. Toffling of Attleboro, Gary W. Forget and his wife Robin of Mansfield, Jan L. Chenot of Cumberland, RI, Joyce R. Lima and her husband Gilbert of Rehoboth, Kim A. Forget of Attleboro, Randy A. Forget of Mansfield, Heidi E. McKearney of Attleboro and Christine M. Dorough and her husband Steve of St. Louis, MO; 26 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; his siblings, Yvette C. Mercier of SC, Rita C. Letourneau of Attleboro, Roland Forget of CT; also several nieces, nephews and his Aunt Terry of FL. He was the brother of the late Roger E. Forget. The Forget family would like to thank Dawn Carey, Glendalee Rodriguez, Lisa Gousie, the Community VNA, especially Jeannie for all of their devotion in taking wonderful care of Joseph. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Thursday, January 31, 2019 from 4-8 pm in the Duffy-Poule Funeral Home, 20 Peck Street, Attleboro. A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 1, 2019 at 11 a.m. in the funeral home, followed by a burial in North Purchase Cemetery, Attleboro. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jean’s name may be made to a charity of your choice.
