Jose Enrique Carrion

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Jose Carrion, who left us peacefully on July 28, 2026. Born in Río Piedras Antiguo, San Juan, Puerto Rico on February 12, 1959, Jose moved to North Attleboro, MA, and finally settled in Attleboro, Massachusetts. Spirited and supportive, Jose, affectionately known to many as "Cheo," was a charismatic soul whose infectious laughter and loving nature touched the lives of all who knew him. An integral part of the Boston Housing Police, Jose served his community with dedication as an officer. He was a firm believer in the power of hard work and strength of character, and he instilled these values in those he interacted with.

Outside of work, Jose was an ardent martial arts enthusiast who trained many in his past. His love for everything horror-related was evident in his anticipation for Halloween, his favorite holiday. Jose's ultimate joy, though, was spending time with his family. His love for them was boundless, and he often went out of his way to help anyone in need. Jose is survived by his domestic partner, Hilda Soto; his children, Jose Carrion, Wanda Carrion, Bruce Carrion and his spouse Crystal Carrion and adopted daughter Carla Raposo; his grandchildren, Alexys Carrion, Tamiya Carrion, Ivan Carrion, and Cameron Carrion; his great-grandchildren, Kailani Carrion and Jayvien Carrion; and his sister, Brunilda Carrau-Fernandez and her spouse, Jorge Fernandez. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jose Cheverez and Maria Rivera.

Visitation will be held on Monday, August 3, 2026, from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Duffy-Poule Funeral and Cremation Services, 20 Peck Street, Attleboro, MA. A Mass in Jose's honor will take place on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at 10:00am at St. John the Evangelist Church, 133 North Main Street, Attleboro, MA, followed by interment at North Purchase Cemetery, 824 N. Main St., Attleboro, MA. All services are under the care of Duffy-Poule Funeral and Cremation Services.
