John J. (Jack) Logan of Attleboro and Mashpee passed away on Monday, March 27, 2023, surrounded by the love of his family. He was the widow of Pearl E. (Charron) Logan, his childhood sweetheart to whom he was married just shy of 61 years until her passing in 2021.
Born in Attleboro, MA, on August 21, 1938, Jack was the youngest son of James G. Logan and Irene M. (Bussiere) Logan. In addition to his parents, he is also predeceased by his siblings James H. Logan Sr., Rita T. (Logan) Ireland and Raymond E. Logan Sr.
A life-long resident of Attleboro, he and Pearl moved to Mashpee in 2006 in semi-retirement. In 1961 Jack received certification from Rhode Island School of Design Extension School in Modeling. He began his apprenticeship as a die cutter at Balfour Company where he perfected his trade, followed by years at Kilmartin Tool & Die. Ultimately, with support from Pearl, he opened “Logan’s Handcrafted Dies” which he operated into his late seventies. He was a true and meticulous artist. Jack was also blessed with “the gift of gab” and tended bar at Sandy’s Restaurant in Plainville, MA, for many years enjoying the comradery of both patrons and staff.
Jack appreciated the treasures life has to offer – good times with family and friends and a profession he enjoyed. Laughter and a joke were in abundance, even if at his own expense. He worked hard to provide for his family but there was always something to look forward to: backyard barbeques and clambakes, a Christmas Eve party before mid-night mass, the annual vacation to Falmouth when the family was young, birthday parties, attending youth sporting events, a bike ride to the park and beating the younger generation at a good game of pool. The life he and Pearl built was anchored in family; it revolved around the care, nurturing and growth of their children as well as their parents in older age.
Jack is survived, and will be greatly missed, by his four children and their spouses: Lisa Logan Ross and Bradford Ross of Mansfield, MA, John M. Logan and Judy Logan of Rehoboth, MA, Tina M. Logan and William Kissinger of Chepachet, RI, and Keri L. Enright and Richard Enright of Cumberland, RI; loving grandchildren, great-grandchild and extended family.
Family and friends and are cordially invited to attend a “Celebration of Life” Visitation on Saturday, April 8, 2023, from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at the Duffy-Poule Funeral Home, 20 Peck Street, Attleboro, MA.
