Mr. John E. Kelly Obituary (1954

John E. Kelly, 68, passed away unexpectedly on January 5, 2023 at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family. John was born October 20, 1954 in Attleboro, MA to the late Joseph and Irene (Kosowski) Kelly. Raised in Attleboro, John graduated from Attleboro High School, class of 1972 and went on to study education at Bridgewater College. John started working at a young age at Fernandes Market and since then he has devoted his life to helping people. From being a special education teacher at Massasoit school to working homeless outreach in Boston, MA and Concord, NH to being a service coordinator at Northeast Kingdom Human Services, John's passion to help those in need never faltered. John met his loving wife, Karen, working at the Groden Center residential facility and they were married in 1988. John and Karen moved to Providence, RI where they raised their 3 children until 2002, finally following their dream of living in the mountains and moving to NH. John was most at peace in the mountains and could often be heard referring to it as "God's country". John was a devout Catholic and taught catechism throughout his years in Rhode Island and Massachusetts. John retired early in 2015 and loved spending his time tending to his small barnyard of chickens and ducks and spoiling his dogs. John was a loving husband, father, godfather, uncle, and friend. He was always there if you needed help, advice, or just someone to talk with. He was quick to make jokes and his laughter was contagious. He will truly be missed. He is survived by his wife, Karen (DeAngelis) Kelly of Twin Mountain, NH; his daughters Erin Kelly of Danbury, CT and Tara Kelly of Twin Mountain, NH; and his son Michael Kelly of Manchester, NH. In addition to his parents, Joseph and Irene (Kosowski) Kelly, John is predeceased by his brothers Edward Kelly and Joseph Kelly as well as many aunts and uncles. Memorial visitation for John will be held on Saturday, February 4, 2023 at Duffy-Poule Funeral Home, 20 Peck Street, Attleboro, MA from 10 -11:30 am, with a prayer service from 11:30 am-12 pm.
