John Brederson

–

Attleboro, Massachusetts

John Brederson, affectionately known as Boompa to his grandchildren, was a man who knew how to bring light into a room. He proudly served in the Army and loved sharing stories of his time in Germany with his family and friends. He passed away on April 9, 2026, in his home, surrounded by his family.

Born on December 14, 1961, in Attleboro, MA, he spent his life making others laugh and feel loved. John's infectious energy and reliable nature made him a rock for his family, always there with a joke or a helping hand. A talented mechanic, he could turn any rust bucket into a smooth ride, but his real pride and joy were his classic cars, especially his Lil' Red Express and Ford Ranchero.

John is survived by his loving wife, Rosaleen, who he has known since infancy and has been happily married for 41 years. He leaves behind his children, Katie Scott and her husband Ernest, John Quinn and his wife Grace. He cherished every moment with his grandchildren, Autumn Scott, Jeremy Scott, Annabelle Quinn, Robert Langevin, John Jr., and Connor Quinn. He is also survived by his doting mother, Ellen, his siblings Charlene (Paul - deceased) Habershaw, Edward (Milanka) Brederson, Christopher Brederson, and James (Franny) Brederson. Preceding him in death are his father, Edward Brederson, his brother Eugene Brederson, and brother-in-law Paul Habershaw. His three babies who were lost at childbirth were waiting for him in heaven.

John was a courageous soul, never shying away from a challenge. Whether it was fixing a stubborn engine at John John's Automotive until his retirement in 2024 or cooking up a feast for family gatherings, he did it all with a smile and a dad joke. He was also a master Volvo technician and his auto repair business was named the best in Attleboro in 2005, a testament to his dedication and hard work. John was not just a master of his trade, but a master of life, fishing, gardening, fixing antique clocks, and most importantly, playing with his grandchildren. He was also an active member of Friends Helping Friends of North Attleboro.

In John 14:27, the Lord says, "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid." As we remember John, let us remember his love for his Lord Jesus Christ and the peace that he now rests in.
