Mrs. Joan M. Reeves Obituary (1943

SEEKONK - Joan M. (Gagnon) Reeves, 72, of Seekonk, passed away leaving her family, friends and her precious dogs, Buster and Benji, on Friday, January 22, 2016 at Sturdy Memorial Hospital, Attleboro. Born on March 12, 1943 in Seekonk, MA she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Eleanor (Neelon) Gagnon. Joan, who like her sister, was born deaf and overcame this handicap to raise four children by herself. She had a successful work experience and developed a masterful talent of sewing and knitting, by hand as well as by machine. Joan was known for her intense love of all God's creatures, wild and tame. To say she was a beautiful person went beyond her physical features and was reflected in her purest of hearts and made her so very loved for all who came to know her. She is survived by her husband, Ronald Reeves of Seekonk; her sons, Maurice Harriman and his wife Kerri of Exeter, RI, David Harriman and his wife Janice of Burrillville, RI, and Anthony Harriman of Seekonk; a daughter, Barbara Harriman of Mount Lebanon, Louisiana; her brothers, Peter Gagnon and his wife Shirley of Cumberland, RI, and Michael Gagnon of Cranston, RI; a sister, Frances Noll and her husband Dale of Dedham, MA; her Brothers-in-law, Robert Reeves and his wife Marilyn of Thompson, CT, Roger Reeves and his wife Pamela of Seekonk, Russell Reeves and his wife Jacqueline of Norton, MA; sisters-in-law, Diane Kelly and her husband James of Goose Creek, SC and Valerie Swenson of East Falmouth, MA. She also leaves seven grandchildren, two great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Wednesday, January 27, 2016 from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Duffy-Poule Funeral Home, 20 Peck St., Attleboro. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, January 30, 2016 at 10 a.m. in Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church, Coyle Drive, Seekonk. Burial will talk place at a later date.
