Mrs. Janet Helen Mason Obituary (1934

Norton – Mrs. Janet Helen Mason passed away peacefully surrounded by family and close friends on Tuesday May 23, 2017 at the Wingate of Norton. She was the devoted wife of the late Robert P. Mason. She was born May 17, 1934 to Charles Alfred and Helen (White) Mason in Bridgewater, MA. Janet grew up in North Attleboro from the age of 6, eventually graduating from North Attleboro High school; after high school, she attended and graduated from Fisher College in Boston. Janet spent many years working in the credit department of The Mason Box Co. in North Attleboro, MA. She loved flowers and was a member of her local garden club. She loved to travel to Canada to spend time with family and drive to Pennsylvania to spend time with Bob's family and friends. Her favorite place was Silver Lake, where she caught a 28" lake trout, which she had mounted and named it OMG! Fishing, playing cards, and entertaining were favorite pastimes on the lake. In more recent times, Janet enjoyed playing Bingo and Left Right Center, always having quarters readily available to play. Janet leaves many wonderful memories to be cherished by her sisters Marjorie Brooks of Smith Falls, Ontario and Eleanor Legg of Westboro, MA ,her stepdaughter Berthe Mason Cowles and husband Robert S. Cowles, their three children Jennifer Cowles Bare and husband Darrell, Curtis Cowles and wife Martha and Katherine Cowles and husband Gregg Stevens, her stepson Hugh D. Mason and wife Mimi and their two children Martha Kim Mason and H Scott Mason ,Louise Mason , wife of the late Robert P Mason Jr and their two children Pamela L Mason and Robert P Mason III ,great grandchildren Emily Barker Cowles, Margaret Ellen Cowles, Samuel Cowles, Mason Parker Stevens and Mackenzie Mason, many loving nieces and nephews and dearest friend and caregiver Diane McCarron of Mansfield. Janet was predeceased by her husband Robert; and her parents Charles and Helen. She will be also be deeply missed by the caring and loving staff of Wingate Wing A , Norton, MA and the staff of Compassionate Care Hospice who made every day worth living. A private graveside service will be held on a later date at North Purchase Cemetery where Janet will be laid to rest with her loving husband Funeral arrangements entrusted to the Duffy-Poule Funeral Home, Attleboro.
