Grover C. Young Obituary (1928

Grover C. Young, 84, passed away on Wednesday, May 15, 2013. Born in Attleboro on July 6, 1928, Grover was a son of the late Grover C. and Mary McQuade Young. He was the beloved husband of the late Evelyn Sousa Young and is survived by his longtime companion and fiancée Eleanor Kennedy of Attleboro. Grover was raised in Attleboro and attended local schools. He served his country proudly as a member of the United States Navy during World War II and received the World War II Victory Medal. Grover was employed in the oil burner industry for many years prior to his retirement years ago. Grover was a member of the Attleboro Lodge of Elks, BPOE 1014. He enjoyed spending time by the Cape Cod Canal and spending winters in St. Petersburg, Florida. In addition to his fiancée, Grover is survived by a brother Paul Young and his wife Jackie and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his fiancée Eleanor's children; Linda Newbury, Cynthia Cote, and Kathy Drapeau. He was the brother of the late Bernard, Walter, Milton, Melvin, Henry, and Dorothy Young. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend visiting hours on Sunday, May 19, 2013 from 4 PM – 6 PM in the Duffy-Poule Funeral Home, 20 Peck Street, Attleboro. A funeral service will be conducted on Monday, May 20, 2013 at 10:30 A.M. in the Duffy-Poule Funeral Home conducted by the Rev. Mr. Adel Malloy of St. John the Evangelist Church in Attleboro. Mr.Young will be laid to rest with full military honors in the V.A. National Cemetery of Massachusetts, MacArthur Boulevard, Bourne.
