Gerard R. Cameron, Sr. Obituary (1931

Gerard R. Cameron, Sr, 80, of Shepard St. Plainville and St. Pete Beach, Florida, passed peacefully at home in Florida on May 12, 2012. He was the beloved husband of Shirley S. Smith Cameron and former husband of the late Elizabeth R. Cameron. Born in Attleboro on September 15, 1931, he was a son of the late Wilfred and Delia Dargis Cameron. Gerard was educated in Attleboro schools and served his country proudly as a member of the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He worked for many years at the former St. Regis Company in Attleboro and later at the East Elementary School in Sharon. Gerard was a communicant and active member of Holy Ghost Parish. He was an avid Red Sox fan and enjoyed gardening. Gerard and Shirley divided their time equally between Plainville and St. Pete Beach over the last ten years. They both were very active in their Florida community. Gerard will always be remembered for always being ready to lend a hand to help others in need. In addition to his wife Shirley, Gerard is survived by four children; Gerard R. Cameron, Jr. of Attleboro, Steven Cameron of Midlothian, Texas, Deborah A. Boss of Attleboro, and Joseph Cameron of Seekonk, three stepchildren; Charles Husselbee of Winchendon, MA, Craig Husselbee of Colorado, and Carl Husselbee of Sharon, a sister; Pauline Ray of South Attleboro, eight grandchildren; John Boss, Michael Boss, Matthew Cameron, Ashley Cameron, CJ Husselbee, Cody Husselbee, Valerie Husselbee, andKara Husselbee, and four great grandchildren; Gavin Boss, Jakob Boss, Emma Boss, and Chloe Boss. Gerard was the brother of the late Rhea Lizotte, Lillian Hoagland, Gloria Souliere, Theresa Iacuzzi, Maurice Cameron, Arthur Cameron, Ernest Cameron, Wilfred Cameron, Robert Cameron, Roland "Pete" Cameron, and Theresa Iacuzzi. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the Duffy-Poule Funeral Home, 20 Peck Street, Attleboro where the Cameron family will receive friends on Sunday, May 20th from 2 PM – 5 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, May 21st at 10:30 AM in Holy Ghost Church, 71 Linden Street, Attleboro, celebrated by the Rev. John Murray, Pastor. Gerard will be laid to rest in St. Stephen's Cemetery, Attleboro.
