George Chamillard

CHAMILLARD – George W., 83, passed away with his loved ones present at Rose Court on Wednesday, August 24, 2022. He was the loving husband of Maureen (Mullin) Chamillard of Hingham; beloved father of Debra Paiva of Wareham, Donna Johnson and her husband Doug of Norton, David Chamillard and his wife Deni of Tucson, AZ and Albert Chamillard of Tucson, AZ; his brother, Albert Chamillard of Bourne; 8 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

George was predeceased by his parents, Albert and Helen Chamillard and his brother Paul Chamillard.

Born on Dec. 28, 1938 in Newton, MA, George spent most of his life in Norton. He was a graduate of Norton High School and then attended Northeastern University obtaining a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and an MBA. He resided in Cohasset for 20 plus years and in Hingham this past year.
George proudly served in the United States Coast Guard for six years before he was honorably discharged.

He began his working career with the Foxboro Company and moved to Teradyne where he climbed the ranks to President, CEO and Chairman of the Board.

George was a member of the Old Goats Club.

The family would like to offer a special thanks to Rose Court and Beacon Hospice for the care and support given to George.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation from 4-7 p.m. on Wednesday, August 31, 2022 at the Duffy-Poule Funeral Home, 20 Peck Street, Attleboro.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, September 1, 2022 at the funeral home, followed by a burial with military honors at Norton Common Cemetery.
