Mr. Eugene N. Perry Obituary (1928

ATTLEBORO - Eugene (“Gene”) N. Perry, 87, of Attleboro, MA passed away on Monday, August 8, 2016 at the Southeast Health Care Center in N. Easton, MA. Born August 27, 1928 in Attleboro, MA, he was a son of the late Solomon and Julia Perry. Gene grew up in Attleboro and earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Bryant College in 1951. Immediately upon graduation, he served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, stationed in Germany as a member of the Finance Corps. After his return, he went to work for St. Regis in Attleboro, where he met his wife, Eileen Bonner. They were married on May 26, 1956 and were married for over 58 years, until her death in November 2014. Gene and his brother Ernest started Precision Tool & Machine Corp. in Attleboro in the early 1960s, which Gene continued to run until his retirement in 1998. Over the years he enjoyed playing golf and cards, vacationing with his family, and talking about his children and grandchildren. Gene is survived by his daughter Erin Perry of Schenectady, NY; his two sons, Thomas Perry and his wife Pamela of Londonderry, NH, and Jonathan Perry and his wife Elizabeth of Charlotte, NC; and six grandchildren, Kelsey, Jack, Ian, Sydney, Carson, and Reece. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. He is the brother of the late Albert, Louis, Arthur, Ernest and Victor Perry. A special thanks is given to the staff of the Southeast Health Care Center for the care they provided him over the last several months. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Friday, August 12, 2016 from 4-7 PM in the Duffy-Poule Funeral Home, 20 Peck Street, Attleboro. A funeral will be conducted on Saturday, August 13, 2016 at 9:00 AM from the Duffy-Poule Funeral Home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, at 10:00 AM, in St. John the Evangelist Church, 133 North Main Street, Attleboro. Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery, Attleboro. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in his memory to Boys Town (www.boystown.org) or Mercy Home for Boys & Girls (www.mercyhome.org), two of the children’s charities that were close to his heart, or to any children’s charity of your choice.
