Mrs. Eileen H. Markham Obituary (1937

ATTLEBORO- Eileen H. Markham, 81, of Attleboro, passed away peacefully, on Sunday, May 6, 2018, at the Life Care Center of Attleboro, after a brave battle with cancer. She was the devoted wife for 48 wonderful years to the late Richard H. Markham, whom passed away on November 30th, 2007. Eileen was born on May 4, 1937 in Norton, MA and was a daughter to the late Paul and Helen (Dion) Murphy. Eileen grew up in Norton and attended Norton High School. She worked the “mother’s hours” as a jewelry assembler at General Findings in Attleboro and she was also employed for many years as an assembler at the Foxboro Company in Foxboro. She made her home at 64 Biltmore Street in Attleboro for over 55 years. In her spare time, Eileen enjoyed spending time with her friends at the Larson Senior Center in Attleboro. She would often be found playing cards, especially her favorite game, Cribbage. Eileen also enjoyed her monthly bus trips to Mohegan Sun Casino, where she loved to try her luck at the slot machines. Most of all, Eileen truly enjoyed the company and time spent with her dear family, especially her grandchildren. Eileen is survived by her cherished son, Donald Markham of Attleboro; her grandchildren, Kelly and Jason Briggs and Erin and Kevin Markham; her great-granddaughter, Ahri Olsen; her daughter-in-law, Eileen Markham; her sister-in-law, Carol Murphy; her two beloved pugs, Brady and Molly; and also many extended family members and treasured friends. In addition to her parents and husband, Eileen was predeceased by her caring daughter, Dianne Briggs and her husband Norman and also her siblings, Richard Murphy and Jeannette Savoy. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial visitation on Monday, May 14 from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m., in the Duffy-Poule Funeral Home, 20 Peck Street Attleboro. Burial will take place at a later date.
