Mrs. Eileen M. (Paquin) Charron Obituary (1924

ATTLEBORO - Eileen May (Paquin) Charron, 89, of Biltmore Street, passed away March 12, 2014, at Golden Living Center Garden Place, Attleboro. Born on May 23, 1924, in Attleboro, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Margaret (Pickett) Paquin. Wife of the late Marcel J. Charron and the late Edgar O’Neill. She was a resident of Biltmore Street in Attleboro for 60 years and a parishioner of Saint John the Evangelist Church, Attleboro. Eileen was a homemaker and was previously employed at Augat Co. in Attleboro. Eileen was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who devoted her life to her children. She will always be remembered as someone who overcame numerous personal tragedies and illnesses, including a long battle with TB as a teenager. At the age of 18 she met and married Edgar O’Neill and soon had a son, Robert. In 1944 Edgar was killed in battle during WWII. For several years she struggled to raise her son as a single mom, until she met and married Marcel in 1947. Together they raised their family until his death in 2008. Eileen enjoyed puzzles, knitting hats for babies at Sturdy Memorial Hospital and bingo. She is survived by her children, Leo M. Charron and his wife Susan of Attleboro, Raymond J. Charron of Attleboro, Larry J. Charron of Bradenton, FL, James B. Charron of Seekonk and Lynn M. Detomasi of Attleboro; her brother, Harold Paquin and his wife Emily of Providence; her grandchildren, Tatum McIsaac, Christopher Charron, Heather Charron, Allison Charron, Zacorey (Zac) Charron, Brandon Detomasi and several great-grandchildren. She is the mother of the late Robert O’Neill; sister of the late Joseph Paquin Jr., Margaret (Peggy) Jones, Walter Paquin and Raymond Paquin; grandmother of the late David Littlejohn. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at 10 a.m. in the Duffy-Poule Funeral Home, 20 Peck St., Attleboro, followed by a Memorial Mass at 11 a.m. in Saint John the Evangelist Church, 133 North Main Street, Attleboro . Burial will follow in Saint Stephen’s Cemetery, Attleboro. In lieu of flowers donations in Eileen’s name may be made to New Hope, 140 Park Street, Attleboro, MA 02703.
