Amelia V. Haberek Obituary (1924

Amelia V. Haberek, 87, of Stoughton, formerly of Attleboro, a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and aunt, passed peacefully on August 19, 2011 in the Blue Hills Alzheimer's Care Center. She was the beloved wife of the late Edward J. Haberek, Sr, to whom she was married in 1942 in Jacksonville, Florida, and who passed in 2000. Born Amelia Piedziewicz in Walpole on February 13, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Antonina Bernatowicz Piedziewicz. Amelia was educated in Walpole schools. She was an Attleboro resident for fifty one years. Amelia worked at Texas Instruments in earlier days, and was employed at A&Z Chain Company in Attleboro, which later became A&Z Hayward Company in East Providence, RI, until retirement. She served as a Cub Scout Den Mother for many years, was a member of the Lincoln Circle of the Blind, and a member of the DAV. She enjoyed shopping, arts and crafts, going to fairs, cooking, driving, and spending time with her granddaughters. Amelia is survived by her children; Jo-Ann Wall of Middletown, Rhode Island, Michael Haberek of Norton, Gregory Haberek of Swansea, Michelle Carlson of Attleboro and also survived by eight grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Edward "Butchie" J. Haberek, Jr. and the late John Haberek, and sister of the late Joseph, John, and Chester Piedziewicz. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the Duffy-Poule Funeral Home, 20 Peck Street, Attleboro, where all funeral arrangements are private.
