Alda Araujo

Alda Maria Araujo, 85, of Attleboro, MA, passed away peacefully at her home on September 20, 2024. Born in Saint Michael, Portugal on February 6, 1939, Alda was a compassionate and supportive woman who dedicated her life to her family and her work in the jewelry industry. She was a noteworthy figure at Swanks and Leach and Garner, displaying meticulous craftsmanship and unwavering commitment to her assembly job. Alda, who found her way to America in the 1960s, made Attleboro her home and became a beloved member of the community.

A former communicant of the Holy Ghost Church in Attleboro, Alda's faith was a cornerstone in her life. Her hobbies included knitting and sewing, activities she often enjoyed in the company of her cherished grandchildren and children.

Alda is survived by her two devoted children, Catherine Rego and her husband Arsenio of Attleboro and Robert Araujo and his wife Susan of Attleboro; four cherished grandchildren, Shawn Rego, Eric Rego, Chantel Araujo and Robbie Araujo; 5 great grandchildren; her siblings, Jose Pavao, Lucy Costa, Zaila Viverois and Maria Dion; she also leaves many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Manuel Araujo, and her parents, Manuel and Maria Pavao.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation from 9-11 am on Wednesday, September 25, 2024 at the Duffy-Poule Funeral Home, 20 Peck Street, Attleboro followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. John the Evangelist Church, 133 North Main Street, Attleboro at 11:30 am. Burial will take place at St. John's Cemetery, Attleboro.
