    Patricia M. (Lee) Manchester

    August 28, 1950 - January 28, 2019

Patricia Lee Manchester, 68, of Attleboro, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on January 28, 2019 after a long courageous battle with cancer. Born on August 28, 1950 in Attleboro, she was the beloved daughter of the late Attorney John P. Lee and Muriel D. Lee. Paddy graduated from Bishop Feehan High School in 1968 and went on to earn a degree in education from Framingham State College. She was a devoted and passionate teacher who spent more than forty years in the North Attleboro Public School system. Paddy loved the Martin School where she taught third grade, and fondly referred to the staff and students as “The Martin Family”. Paddy was an avid sports fan, always rooting for her Providence College Friars, New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox. Tennis was very near and dear to her heart and her favorite players to watch were her two sons. She dedicated countless nights and weekends to their tennis careers and enjoyed every minute of it. Paddy was also a fierce supporter at all of her nieces and nephews sporting events. Some of her favorite memories were those at Wrinkle Point, West Dennis, where she spent many summers growing up. She loved West Dennis Beach, day trips to Nantucket and all things nautical. Paddy was extremely talented and had an artistic flair that seemed almost effortless. She had beautiful handwriting and never ceased to amaze us with her thoughtful homemade gifts. Most importantly, Paddy was extremely proud of her children and grandchildren. They lit up her life and she cherished every moment she was able to spend with them. Paddy is survived by her son Robert V. Manchester, his wife Andrea and her grandchildren John Thomas and Ryan Elizabeth. She is predeceased by her beloved son Michael Lee Manchester and her brother John P. Lee, Jr. She leaves behind her siblings; Maureen A. Lee and her husband Jack Boland, Kerrin Lee Sturdy and her husband Mark, Thomas P. Lee and his wife Susan French, Shannon Lee Nobrega and her husband Dave, Robert M. Lee and his wife Susan, Steven D. Lee and his wife Patti, numerous nieces and nephews and William W. Manchester of Attleboro. We would like to thank her caring team of doctors and nurses in Boston who worked tirelessly to give her the gift of life. They loved and appreciated her as much as we did. She fought long and hard and never gave up. They sent their heartfelt condolences and said with a smile that at times she could be “delightfully impossible”. We are also very grateful for the compassionate care provided most recently to Paddy by her doctors and nurses in Attleboro. She met every challenge head on and never complained. Family and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Monday, February 4, 2019 from 4-7pm at the Duffy-Poule Funeral Home, 20 Peck Street in Attleboro. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10am in St. John the Evangelist Church, 133 No. Main Street, Attleboro, MA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her memory may be made to: The Lee Family Scholarship at Bishop Feehan High School, 70 Holcott Drive, Attleboro, MA 02703 (www.bishopfeehan.com)
