It is with deep sorrow to announce that Marie E. (Wedge) Martinneau passed away on March 30, 2021 at age 75. She passed peacefully with the assistance of Hospice Care after suffering with various health issues. Marie was born in Boston and raised in Roxbury, MA, and was married at age 18, proceeding to have and raise a family in Rockland and Whitman, MA. She spent her last years living in Attleboro, MA. Marie enjoyed many things in her life. She loved animals and feeding the wildlife, music and dancing, cooking, sewing, knitting and crocheting, embroidery, and especially loved her family and pets. She also enjoyed her Native American heritage and attending Pow-Wow’s, creating beaded jewelry, and dancing inside and outside of the Sacred circle. In her earlier years, she was in a bowling league, enjoyed ceramics and macramé, and getting together with family for game nights. She took many courses through an adult education program learning Word Processing, along with other educational classes. She never liked the cold weather and always looked forward to Spring coming so she could plant flowers in her yard and enjoy them as they bloomed. One of her favorite pastimes was being able to laugh and watch the old “I Love Lucy” shows and her “Cowboys” (Country/Western programs) on TV. She will be missed by many people and leaves her 2 daughters, Karen Preston, and her husband Chuck of Massachusetts, and Debbie Genereux of Maine; her 2 grandsons Kyle Genereux and Christopher Genereux of Maine; her daughters’ Dad, Wiliam Martineau; her sister Ruth (Wedge) Barbin of Springfield, MA; her close niece Donna (Barbin) Roberts of Longmeadow, MA, and several other nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. She also leaves several great neighbors along with 2 close friends Donna Bogosh and Ruth Johnson of Attleboro, MA, who both were Angels during her declining health. She is pre-deceased by her parents Jeannette (Smith) Wedge & Joseph Wedge, her brothers, Charles Wedge, Edward Wedge, Ronald Wedge & Henry “Harry” Wedge, and her life-long best friend Kathy Frantello. Marie has chosen to be cremated with a private gathering.
