Josephine Derby

Josephine (Fraser) Derby of Attleboro, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 11, 2021 at 66 years of age after a courageous battle with cancer. Beloved wife of Richard L. Derby of 48 years. Daughter of the late Dorothea (Munoz) and Francis J. Fraser, Sr. Loving mother of Michael Derby of Boston; Elisha Derby Siciliano of Attleboro; and Matthew F. Derby of Attleboro. Adored sister of Francis J. Fraser, Jr. and his wife Suzanne of Iowa. Sister-in-law of Kathy Derby of Attleboro. Josephine also leaves many nieces and nephews and her Fur-babies: Fluffy, Pumpkin, Mocha, Snuggs and Stormie-Jo.

Josephine was born in Topeka, KS and moved to Massachusetts at a young age and attended Norton High School graduating in the Class of 1973. She worked at Texas Instruments in the 80’s and then at Cabot until she moved away in the 90’s. She later retired and became a homemaker until her passing.

Her simplest pleasures in life were crocheting, reading and baking. She donated many crocheted hats and blankets to the church as well as to cancer patients over the years.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation on Thursday, December 16, 2021 from 5-8 PM at Duffy-Poule Funeral Home, 20 Peck Street, Attleboro. A funeral will be conducted on Friday, December 17, 2021 at 9 AM from the Duffy-Poule Funeral Home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM at St. Mary’s Church, 1 Power St., Norton. Burial will follow at St. John’s Cemetery, 165 West St., Attleboro.
