April 28, 1971 - September 16, 2021
REHOBOTH - Jason Scott (Jay “Z”) Szczoczarz, 50, of Rehoboth, passed away following a brief and difficult illness on Thursday, September 16, 2021. He was the husband of November Allard-Szczoczarz. Born on April 28, 1971, in Pawtucket, RI, he was the son of Michael Szczoczarz Jr. and Deborah (Kingston) Szczoczarz. Jay graduated from Dighton-Rehoboth Regional High School in 1989 and continued his education at the Butera School of Art in Boston, MA. He was the owner and operator of Countryside Signz in Seekonk, MA, a family business of 40+ years. Since his graduation from DRRHS, Jay was an artist of many trades, specializing in sign, airbrush and pinstripe artistry. In addition to his beloved wife of 12 years and his parents, he is survived by his four children, Ashley (23) and Kazzie (11) Szczoczarz, Seven Stott (21), and Matthew Allard (28) all of Rehoboth; his brother Michael Szczoczarz III and his wife Cindi Van Eps Szczoczarz of Attleboro; and numerous other close family and friends. Jay “Z” had a bigger than life personality. He was loved by everyone that met him and his light has touched so many lives over the years. He enjoyed camping, bonfires, going on rides on his motorcycle, spending quality time with family, friends and his dogs, and personal artistry. He and his wife, November shared a love like no other, a truly special and unbreakable bond. There are so many words to describe Jay: loving husband, caring father, adored brother and son, artist, fixer, mentor, generous friend, goofy, gentle giant, fun-loving, and life of the party. Jay truly was one of the most well-loved and kind-hearted people in the world. A memorial visitation will take place on Saturday, October 2nd at the Duffy-Poule Funeral Home, 20 Peck Street, Attleboro, MA from 11:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m., followed by a burial at Oak Knoll Cemetery in Rehoboth, MA. Per Jay’s wishes, a “Celebration of Life” service will be held following the burial services at the Attleboro Elks Lodge at 5:00 p.m. Jay “Z” would have liked everyone to attend all services casually dressed. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are greatly appreciated to Kazzie’s College Fund. Checks may be made payable to Kazzie Szczoczarz and sent to 120 Agricultural Ave, Rehoboth, MA 02769.
