Mr. James J. O'Brien Obituary (1964

ATTLEBORO – James J. O’Brien, 51, of Attleboro passed away on Sunday, May 8, 2016 in the Good Samaritan Medical Center, Brockton. He was the loving husband of Jacqueline (Joyal) O’Brien of Attleboro for 21 years. He was also the former husband of Heike Holst, Heddesheim, Germany. Born on July 18, 1964 in Attleboro, MA, he was a son of the late Leon Jr. and Mary (Grady) O’Brien. James grew up in Attleboro and was a 1982 graduate of Attleboro High School. After graduating high school he enlisted in the United States Army and proudly served his country until his discharge in May 1986. James worked as a calibration technician for over 33 years both for the U.S. Government and in the private sector. He was an avid New England sports fan and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. In addition to his wife, James is survived by his beloved daughter, Caroline O’Brien of Attleboro; his siblings, Maureen Woodruff of Vermont and Barbara O’Brien of Dighton; also many in-laws, nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Kathleen Deavellar and Michael O’Brien. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Sunday, May 15, 2016 from 4 – 6:30 pm in the Duffy-Poule Funeral Home, 20 Peck St. Attleboro, immediately followed by a service at 6:30 pm in the funeral home. Burial will be privately held at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne at a later date.
