Mrs. Helen C. Anderson Obituary (1922

ATTLEBORO – Helen C. Anderson, 95, of Attleboro, passed away with family by her side on Tuesday, February 28, 2017. She was the loving wife of Albert (Andy) Anderson Jr. for the past 71 years. Born in Attleboro, MA on January 28, 1922 she was the daughter of the late William and Elizabeth (Mulligan) Keane. Helen grew up in Attleboro and was a 1940 graduate of Attleboro High School. Married in November 1945, she and her husband Andy lived for a couple of years in Hawaii, where he was stationed in the US Navy. They then returned to Attleboro, settled down, and had six children. After the children were grown, Helen enjoyed working for many years at the Marathon Company in Attleboro. In addition to her husband she is survived by her children, John M. Anderson and his wife Nancy of League City, Texas, Nancy Barrington and her husband Alan of Wakefield, RI, Katherine Hoftun and her husband Jan of Portsmouth, RI, William A. Anderson and his wife Mary of North Attleboro, Elizabeth Anderson and her husband Jack Kirby of Warwick, RI, and Melinda Perry and her husband Timothy of Phoenix, Arizona; also 8 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Elizabeth and Mary Louise Keane and the late Margery Maher. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Sunday, March 5, 2017, from 4 – 6:30 pm in the Duffy-Poule Funeral Home, 20 Peck St. Attleboro. A funeral service will be held immediately following the visitation at 6:30 p.m. in the funeral home. A private graveside service will be held in St. John’s Cemetery, West St., Attleboro.
