Mrs. Frances P. Smith Obituary (1917

ATTLEBORO – Frances P. Smith, 101, of Attleboro, passed away on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at her home. She was the loving wife of the late Francis D. Smith. Born on October 15, 1917 in Pawtucket, RI, she was a daughter of the late James T. and Lucy (Clement) McConville. Frances has lived in Attleboro the past 12 years previously residing in Sandwich for over 40 years. She was employed as a Registered Nurse and worked at the Nantucket Cottage Hospital and the former Norfolk County Hospital in Braintree. Family was everything to Frances, from her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and even her great great grandchildren. She just loved spending time with them and being an influential part in all of their lives. Frances was the matriarch of the Smith family and she will be truly missed. Frances is survived by her children, Janice Soper and her husband Robert of Norton, David Smith of California, Susan Foster and her husband Peter of Attleboro and John Smith of Warwick; her 12 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren; also several nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Claire Morin and sister of the late Cecile McConville, Mary Smith, Claire Croteau and Lucille Fiske. Funeral services will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, donations in Frances’ name may be made to the Hillside Adult Day Health Center, 50 Walton St, Attleboro, MA 02703.
