Mr. David Payette Obituary (1935

ATTLEBORO – David Payette, 81, of Attleboro, passed away while on vacation in Aruba on March 22, 2017. He was the husband of the late Lillian (Culton) Payette. Born on May 13, 1935 in Attleboro, MA, he was a son of the late Sinai and Gertrude Payette. David grew up in Attleboro and was a 1954 graduate of Attleboro High School. He then attended the University of Rhode Island through the extension program and received a certificate in management. David proudly served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War and was honorably discharged in 1958 after serving for 4 years. He was employed in a management role at Charles Thomae & Son, Inc, KREW, V.H. Blackinton & Co. Inc., amongst other local companies. David was a dedicated member of the Adelphoi Masonic Lodge #33 (formerly the Nestell Lodge) in Riverside, RI. He served as Worshipful Master of the Nestell Lodge #33 in 1976 and again in 1986 and he received his 45 year pin in November of 2013. He enjoyed, fishing, bowling, golfing, trips to Aruba and spending time on the Cape and with his loving family. David was a Pop Warner coach and served as president of both the golf and the bowling leagues of which he belonged. He was also instrumental in conjoining the Attleboro Varsity Club and the Attleboro Booster Club into the current Attleboro Varsity Booster Club. David was a member of the Second Congregational Church in Attleboro where he served on the Board of Deacons in the late 70’s and early 80’s. He is survived by his children, Tammie J. Payette of Merrimack, NH, Jeffrey D. Payette of Attleboro and Gregory H. Payette and his wife Kelly J. of Victoria, MN; two grandchildren, Connor D. Payette and Ashley J. Payette both of Victoria, MN; a sister, Ruth Munroe of Rehoboth and several nieces and nephews. David was the brother of the late Earl Payette, Robert Payette, Barbara Register and Calvin Payette. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Monday, April 3, from 4-7 p.m., at the Duffy- Poule Funeral Home, 20 Peck St., Attleboro. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 4, at 10 a.m. in the Duffy-Poule Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Steven’s Corner Cemetery, Rehoboth.
