Mrs. Catherine "Cathy" Lawton Obituary (1943

Smithfield, RI – Catherine “Cathy” (Catania) Lawton, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 29th, 2017 at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Center in Providence, RI. She was the loving wife of Richard Lawton of Smithfield, R.I. Born May 9, 1943 in East Orange, NJ to the late Salvatore and Roxanne (Calasanti) Catania. Cathy was raised and educated in New Jersey where she graduated high school from Middleton Township High School. She was employed as the Cafeteria Manager at Mount St. Charles, Mercy Mount, King Phillip High School and the Van Gorder School in Nevada. Cathy loved to travel and was an avid Montreal Canadiens fan but most of all she loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Cathy is survived by her four sons, David M. Lawton and his wife Diana of The Woodland’s, TX; Brian R. Lawton and his wife Angelina of Edina, MN; Steven R. Lawton and his wife Lisa of North Andover, MA and Jason J. Lawton and his wife Julie of Plainville, MA; her grandchildren, Shaun Lawton and wife Katie; Scott Lawton; Sara Lawton; Jack Lawton; Nick Lawton; Gabby Lawton; Ainsley Lawton; Mary Lawton and Amy Lawton; and her great grandchild, Garrett Lawton. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Wednesday, December 6, 2017 from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Duffy-Poule Funeral Home, 20 Peck St., Attleboro. A funeral will be conducted at 9 a.m. on Thursday, December 7, 2017 from the Duffy-Poule Funeral Home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. from Sacred Heart Parish, 58 Church St, North Attleboro, MA.
