Mr. Alfred J. Spadoni Obituary (1937

ATTLEBORO – Alfred J. Spadoni, 77, of North Attleboro passed away on Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at Rhode Island Hospital. He was the husband of Edna May (Long) Spadoni. Born April 3, 1937, in Attleboro, MA he was the son of the late Clara (Caruso) Boehnke and stepson of the late Harold Boehnke. He was the son of the late Adam J. Spadoni. Alfred was raised and educated in Attleboro and graduated from Attleboro High School in 1955. He retired as a telephone installer from the phone company after 36 years of employment. Alfred was also responsible for the sideline communication systems for the New England Patriots in the 1970’s. Alfred was involved with Boy Scouts Troop #12, Berkeley-Ashton for the past 15 years, holding many different positions. Prior to joining Troop 12 he was involved with Troop 1 Arnold Mills for 23 years. He was the recipient of the Silver Beaver Award, a distinguished service award. He enjoyed camping and spending time with his family at the “High Street Resort”. He also enjoyed spending summers at Mayflower Beach in Dennis on Cape Cod. In addition to his wife, Alfred is survived by his three children Deborah L. Stewart and her husband John Stewart, of Quincy; Stephen J. Spadoni and his fiancée Laurie Molloy-Mackill, of North Attleboro; Anna “Lisa” Nolan and her husband Christopher G. Nolan, of North Attleboro and six grandchildren, Specialist Patrick S. Nolan, U.S. Army, currently stationed at Ft. Carson, Colorado Springs, CO; Megan E. Nolan of North Attleboro; Brittany L. Spadoni and Victoria L. Spadoni both of South Park, PA; Taylor E. Stewart and Davis J. Stewart both of Quincy, MA; his sister, Eileen Piasecki of North Attleboro, two brothers John Spadoni of Plainville and Thomas Spadoni Sr. of Cumberland, RI; and stepbrother, Richard Boehnke of Burbank, CA; also many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Monday, January 19, 2015 from 5-8 p.m. in the Duffy-Poule Funeral Home, 20 Peck Street, Attleboro. A funeral will be conducted on Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at 9 a.m. from the Duffy-Poule Funeral Home, followed by a Mass Celebrating his life at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church, 14 Park Street, North Attleboro. Burial will be private in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne. In lieu of flowers, Al has requested donations be made to: Troop 12 Berkeley-Ashton, 6 Intervale Drive, Cumberland, RI 02864.
